Composed by Ramin Djawadi in 2011, the main title theme for the HBO fantasy television show Game of Thrones was so iconic that it was later reused for the opening titles of the prequel series House of the Dragon. Djawadi focused on cello as the main instrument for the theme, feeling that flute and violin were overused in fantasy music.
