Who needs an Academy Award, anyway?
Several Oscar-winning movies, like Birdman: Or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), Boyhood and American Sniper, were nominated for MTV Movie Awards Wednesday, and other films, like The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and Lucy, received recognition, too. Guardians of the Galaxy, The Fault in Our Stars and Neighbors lead the pack with seven nominations each, followed by 22 Jump Street and Whiplash, which are both up for five buckets of golden popcorn.
Online voting begins March 4. Amy Schumer will host the show live on Apr. 12 at 8 p.m. ET.
