Former #soldiers and security personnel who served under #Syria’s Bashar #al-Assad have been handing over their weapons following an appeal by the Islamist-led #rebels who ousted him to lay down their arms. In the city of Latakia, long queues formed as ex serviceman turned out to give up their guns in large numbers. "For me, this is a good thing. I don't like the military and I don't like the army,” said one former soldier.
