Gunshots rang out followed by screams of anguish in Plymouth, Tobago on Thursday as 27 year old Nikesha Sandy was shot dead mere metres away from her home.
The mother of one was reportedly on her way to work when she was shot multiple times about the body. She died at the scene. Relatives, who were inconsolable, are calling for justice.
This is the second woman to die by violence in less than a week in Tobago. On Saturday, the body of Shellon Walters-Joseph was found in bushes in Mt. St. George. Her body bore marks of violence. An autopsy is to be conducted to determine the cause of death in this incident.
