Chased with Doug Glennie. A one-hour-ten-minute sequence reduced to timelapse.
Started in Denver, targeted NE Wyoming to extreme SE Montana. Drove to Belle Foursche, SD and then decided to chase this cell. Made the decision to detour around the south flank of the cell at Sturgis, SD, which meant a 45 minute drive through the Black Hills (speed limit 35 mph most of the way), to avoid punching the core on the Interstate (which apparently was closed at some point during the storm).
This includes the last segment of the detour through the Black Hills, which was indicative of the whole ride, during which it was very hard to see the storm. We then got into town and turned NNW on Sturgis Rd and watched the quasi-stationary supercell from a couple of miles NW of Rapid City.
