Italy's unemployment rate remained stable in April, but still at 12.6 percent of the workforce. It was the same as in March, which benefited from a slight downward revision from 12.7 percent in the first estimate.

That is lower than the average for the first three months of the year, but the jobless trend for young people is still up and the percentage of working-age adults who are in work is still slipping.
