This sketch was a commission for a Christmas present. It was the Moon on the day their partner was born, and I created the sketch on black paper using Stabilo CarbOthello pastel pencils. You may have seen me sketching a Last Quarter Moon before, but even though the phase may be the same, the libration of the Moon will be different each time. I use Stellarium to check exactly how the Moon is positioned for the date in question. Also, the way I sketch is always subtly different each time so no too of my original sketches are ever the same, even when I've drawn the same crater 50+ times during my sketching workshops!

To create the video I took a photo every 15 seconds with my Canon 1100D with 18-55mm kit lens, then used PIPP and Movie Maker to turn them into a video. The lighting was challenging that day so I've tried to correct that in processing, but apologies for any sudden changes.
