The driving distance between Muscat and Dubai is 450 km and it takes 4h 30m excludes delay in Borders.
The required documents to cross OMAN - UAE border by drive are:
1) Passport
2) Resident Card
3) Driver's License
4) Valid UAE Visa or Entry Permit
5) Vehicle Registration (Mulkiya)
6) Vehicle Insurance coverage in UAE (If you do not have it in your current Insurance, then it have to be purchased before your travel)
7) A negative PCR test result is required which should be conducted not more than 48 hrs before the date of arrival in UAE
8) Oman MOH issued Certificate as well to cross the Borders and
9) Lots of drinks and snacks for your journey.
In UAE, it required SALIK registration which allows you to pass through various tolls in Dubai.
It is not required to buy the SALIK sticker and stick on your car windscreen.
but buy a SALIK card which costs 100 Drhm and get 50 drhms balance in it.
Do online register this SALIK card withing 7 days from your entry to Dubai.
In our return trip, We started from Al Ain crossed through Al Buraimi border instead of Hatta.
There is an exit fee of 35 Drh is charged per passenger at UAE Al Ain border.
Al Ain to Muscat is a short route; it took only Four and half hrs to reach Muscat from Al Ain through the Express Highways.
