In this video tutorial, I guide you through the process of creating a beautiful sampler piece filled with abstract scallops using watercolor. Working in varying shades of blue and green, I start by painting the scallop shapes all over the page, letting the colors blend and flow naturally. Once dry, I come back to enhance the piece with interesting mark-making techniques, adding texture and detail to the scallops. Inspired by the Creative Abstract Watercolor book by Kate Rebecca Leach (@essoldodesign on Instagram), this tutorial is perfect for those looking to experiment with abstract patterns and playful watercolor techniques in their art journals.
