The White House is mourning the loss of singer superstar Tina Turner.
Turner died Tuesday, aged 83, after a long illness in her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland, according to her manager. She became a Swiss citizen a decade ago.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was informed of Turner's death during the White House briefing on Wednesday.
"It is a massive loss, a massive loss to the communities that that loved her and certainly to the music industry," Jean-Pierre said.
A self-professed fan, Jean-Pierre said the star's "music will live will continue to live on."
