Story of Our Lady of Good Counsel

Where do you go to find good advice? Your family or friends, the internet, maybe? I know of someone who can give you not only good advice, but the perfect counsel. Stay tuned to hear about it.

Today, we have so much painful uncertainty when we seek to do what is true and good. When the darkness of evils masquerading as goods comes our way…simply put, we need good advice. This is the story of Our Lady of Good Counsel, which involves a Miraculous Painting of Our Lady.

Devotion to the Mother of Good Counsel took root when Our Lady decided to help three people in particular overcome their troubles.

Enter Giorgio and De Sclavis, two Albanian men from Scutari.

When their homeland was in imminent danger of attack from the Turkish army, these Albanians were torn by the idea of leaving behind a miraculous icon in their small church in Scutari, so they asked Our Lady for good counsel. That night, in their sleep, she inspired them both to flee and ordered them to follow the painting wherever it went.

The next morning, they saw the painting detach itself from the wall and travel slowly through the air, wrapped in a white cloud.

America Needs Fatima is a campaign to capture the heart and soul of America with the Message of Our Lady of Fatima. In 1917, Our Lady asked for prayer, penance and other measures to avoid chastisement of suffering, famines, and wars. She also promised that:

“Finally, my Immaculate Heart will triumph.”
