(11 Feb 2020) A group of young schoolchildren laid flowers Tuesday outside a shopping mall at Nakhon Ratchasima in Thailand, the scene of the country's worst-ever mass shooting.
A total of 29 people were shot dead by a disgruntled soldier during the rampage at the weekend.
The soldier was holed up at the shopping mall for 16 hours before he was killed by security forces.
It's still unclear how the gunman, identified as Sgt. Maj. Jakrapanth Thomma, snatched three assault rifles and two machine guns from the base and escaped in a stolen military vehicle.
Many are questioning the apparent security lapses that allowed him to steal the weapons he used in the assault.
