I had the wonderful opportunity of taking a couple of lessons with Mr. John Pratt years ago, working on many of his great solo pieces. I grew up in the drum corps world, superimposing that style onto these works. After hearing Mr. Pratt play in person, I realized how much I still needed to learn about traditional rudimental interpretation. This piece is one of my favorites, and truly demonstrates how amazing of a composer Mr. Pratt is for rudimental snare drum.
