Four years ago, after years of cruising the Caribbean on a very small boat, Desiree and I set out to find the perfect used Bluewater boat. We traveled up and down the US East Coast, interviewed experts, and got to see a ton of great boats. And after our exhaustive search we landed on a Pacific Seacraft 40. To us it had the perfect combination of a hull shape that prioritized safety offshore, an extremely robust construction, and a very livable interior with minimal compromises. But this boat has only ever been used for weekend sailing and we were blown away by just how much time and expense it took to get this offshore dream boat ready to cross oceans and to live off grid for long periods of time.
