Cataract surgery is one of the most common eye procedures which are performed worldwide. Phacoemulsification is one procedure which can be used to treat the cataract patients and another procedure which is very popular is manual small incision cataract surgery. The basic difference between these 2 surgeries is that, that phacoemulsification is popularly performed under topical in anesthesia and so it is more patient friendly and it is perceived to be associated with very early visual rehabilitation because the eye doesn't need to be passed and the patient can see immediately after the surgery.
