Aggregate Pier Case Study
CNC Foundations - your first choice in Ground Improvement - is installed Aggregate Piers for a multi-story mixed-use development with a lower-level parking garage in Charlotte, North Carolina.
During the geotechnical exploration, up to 15 feet of soft clay fill was encountered across the site. CNC Foundations was contacted by the project to evaluate a ground improvement system to prevent mass over-excavation and removal of the fill soil.
CNC determined that a Vibratory Stone Column ground improvement system could be utilized under all foundations to prevent over-excavation, and also provide an improved bearing capacity of 5,000 psf, which reduced the foundation sizes, saving the project time and money.
Additionally, CNC is able to use our valuable direct displacement method of installation, minimizing spoils created at the site and saving additional time and money.
CNC is partnering directly with the Project Owner/Developer to provide an efficient evaluation of different design options, and overall value to the project.
