Simon (Jeremy Irons) is a careful-minded and cruel terrorist. In order to realize a huge conspiracy, he first created an explosion. While the police were nervously solving the case, he called Sheriff John McCarran (Bruce Willis) again, claiming that the police must obey a series of his instructions, otherwise he would continue to carry out bombing activities across the city.
With the help of grocery store owner Zeus (Samuel L. Jackson), Macallan completed a series of Simon's instructions and escaped death many times. However, Simon, who was still unsatisfied, ordered McClane to defuse the bomb in the street garden, and claimed that a bomb had been planted in an elementary school in New York City. Almost all police and city officials were mobilized to evacuate students from elementary schools and search for bombs.
