Dai Fishing on Tonle Sap River | The bag net fishery | Tonle Sap River fishing | Fresh Water Fish |
Dear my beloved friends,
Hope everyone is doing really well and enjoyed your days.
Today, I have the video about the fishing on Tonle Sap River, Cambodia. I traveled to this place some years ago, just before the Covid pandemic to look for this big scale "Dai Fishing", but not the right time when the fishermen caught the fish because there were not many fish by the time, they hauled up the fish trap from the river.
The Bag net fishery known as the Dai fishery is a large scale fishing parctice which takes place from October to March each year during the so-called open fishing season. A Dai is a stationary trawl positioned in the river to capture "White" fish species migration out of submerged areas around the Great Lake and Tonle Sap River to the Mekong River.
The migration is strongly influenced by the lunar phase.
