Our Highland Explorer service has arrived!
From Monday, 19 July, locals and visitors alike will be able to benefit from more seats and 20 extra bike spaces per train on selected services on the West Highland Line between Oban and Glasgow Queen Street.
The redesigned carriages, unique on the UK network, have space for up to 20 bikes (including a small number of tandems) as well as a charge socket for an e-bike, and storage for bulky sports gear.
They contain additional seats, with customers able to take advantage of free WiFi, at-seat power and USB sockets, and an upgraded toilet.
You’ll be able to spot the Highland Explorer carriages easily, thanks to the large bike symbols and eye-catching external livery designed by Scottish artist, Peter McDermott that depicts some of the West Highland Line’s best-known landmarks.
While we give time for the new service to bed-in, only a limited number of the extra bike spaces will be available to reserve here: [ Ссылка ]
If you’ve already booked space for your bike between 19 July & 7 August and your train includes a Highland Explorer carriage, you’re very welcome to go and try it.
