After 20 years together, Maria (a sparky Chiara Mastroianni) and her husband Richard (Benjamin Biolay) face an impasse after he discovers her latest infidelity, stirring the pot of their gradually dissatisfying marriage. Spending the night in the hotel across the street from their apartment, Maria begins to scrutinise her marital home and the man she left behind, joined by a vision of her younger husband who guides her on a tour of her past lovers and relationships. As she ruminates on the lives she could have lived, Maria begins to reconsider her current situation and the decisions she’s made.
