She mentioned that despite advancements in care, premature and hospitalized neonates, still experience a remarkably high incidence of long term neurodevelopmental disparities compared to the healthy equivalent term infant.
Some of the minor morbidities that neonates experience after being cared for in the NICU, described as the preemie phenotype or minor morbidities include things such as motor delays or executive dysfunction, ADHD, learning disabilities, other behavioral problems, visual motor difficulties.
These are some of the minor morbidities that these infants experience.
