This is to sum up my last trip to the Dieng highlands. Located in Central Java which sits at 2000 metres above sea level made my trip was like a winter-in-Indonesia trip. Packing up my thick and warm clothes to witness the spectacular sunrise overlooking the highlands, the morning mist surrounding the ancient temple complex, the breathtaking views of Lake Telaga Warna and many more. Not to mention, tasting some local food and coffee to warm up our body in the cold temperature. There was also an annual event called Dieng Culture Festival in which we could enjoy a various art and cultural performances such as Jazz above the clouds, the release of traditional lanterns, traditional dance performances and the main feature of this festival which is known as Ruwatan Anak Gimbal (Shaving off ritual of dreadlocks of kids born with this unique hair). On the whole, there are always lots of things we could experience and learn from the trip. So looking forward to another adventurous and educational trip in the future!
