Follow this step-by-step guide for installing Backwater Valves from Fernco.
Backwater Valves are installed in-line with the drainage system, allowing sewer or surface water materials to travel freely in the direction of flow but blocks backflow of those materials in the opposite direction in instances, such as, flooding.
Protect buildings from potential flooding caused by rainwater backflow in the sewerage system.
The flaps are designed to open freely, enabling the smooth flow of wastewater in the direction of the rainwater drain’s slope.
Acting as a physical barrier between a property and the public sewer, the Backwater Valve can also prevent foul smells and harmful pathogens from travelling up the drainage system to the property.
• The design of the body minimises the risk of solid waste accumulating and blocking inside the valve
• Stainless steel anti-flooding flaps to prevent rodents from gaining access to the property
• Complies with the requirements of BS EN 13564
• Robust design and maintenance-free operation
• Suitable as a rodent deterrent
