Bengaluru Techie Atul Subhash's Wife and In-Laws Granted Bail in Abetment of Suicide Case #atul
Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash’s wife Nikita, mother-in-law Nisha, and brother-in-law Anurag were granted bail in a case linked to his suicide. Atul, a 34-year-old AI engineer, tragically took his own life, leaving behind a 24-page suicide note. In it, he detailed the emotional distress he faced, including marital issues with his wife Nikita and harassment from her family members. The note also mentioned legal troubles and a judge from Uttar Pradesh. Atul had shared the letter with a WhatsApp group of an NGO he was involved with.
Nikita, Nisha, and Anurag were arrested in December, with Nikita detained in Gurugram, and Nisha and Anurag taken from Prayagraj, UP. The case of abetment to suicide was filed after Atul’s brother lodged a complaint.
Vinay Singh, the lawyer representing Atul's family in the case, said they are awaiting the full court order to understand the grounds for the bail. He indicated that they would analyze the order sheet once received and, if necessary, challenge the verdict in a higher court.
