Chinchero is a small Andean Indian village near Cusco, Peru. With the snow-capped peak of Andes Mountains against the blue sky and fertile farmland of Sacred Valley, Chinchero is believed to be the “birthplace of the rainbow”.
Chinchero is also known for their beautiful textile works. There are several weaving cooperatives at Chinchero offer the demonstrations of the traditional Andes wool dyeing processes and weaving techniques. These colorful textile arts are created with five steps:

We visited Peru back in May 2015 for 15 days. We love this country so much that we went back in Feb 2020 for a month and then encountered the sudden nation-wide Covid lock down in Peru. These photos and videos were taken on those two trips.
