I've equipped the ESP32 Audio Kit V2.2 the first time with a ST7735 based display.
It's connected via SPI and I tried to implement some basic functionality.
The buttons are connected to IO36 (same as the on board keys as described in my last video).
With a little trick you can get a very fast refresh.
Now you can map different functions to screen entries.
I am not really happy with the actual result: the buttons are .. crap.
You may need a magnification glass on stage xD
In addition to that, going through the files takes forever.
But it's a good starting point to get an idea for what a display can be good for.

Do you also use the audio kit? Do you consider using an analog input to connect some buttons?
