In this video we show 2002 DT466E engine starting issues we had and how we fixed them.
The engine would crank but not start, or it would start when it is cold, but after it gets hot (around 20 minutes later) it shuts down.
Error codes it gave were:
- 335 - Injection Control Press. Unable to Build Press. At Engine Crank
- 124 - Injection Control Press. Signal Out of Range LOW
- 333 - Injection Control Press. Above/Below Desired Level
To troubleshoot the low injection control pressure issue, we first made sure that the fuel tank has diesel in it since it was running low and we thought initially it ran out of fuel, but that was not the issue.
We then replaced the fuel filter thinking maybe clogged filter is causing the low injection control pressure. That did not solve the problem.
Oh at some point we also unplugged the ICP sensor connector from the ICP sensor, which puts the ECM in the default mode and if the sensor was bad, it would still start, but that did not resolve the issue.
We also replaced the IPR connector since it was damaged, but that did not solve the problem.
In the end we replaced the IPR itself (as well as ICP sensor since it was going out) and that resolved the issue.
Our bus is 2002 International 3000IC flat nose, front engine.
