Back in the 1920’s, when alcohol was illegal, Speakeasy bars were hidden bars where people could meet and drink. Orlando has several speakeasies that live-up to the speakeasy criteria. They are unmarked, hidden and usually, you needed a password to get in. This show reviews my 3 favorites retro speakeasy bars and explains how you find them and where you get a reservation or the password.
1) Hanson's Shoe Repair: Downtown Orlando on Pine street, above the cool urban Bauhaus Bar is this hidden inside bar and a cozy rooftop seating. Dark and romantic this is a must if you like great craft cocktails.
2) The Craft: Also on downtown on Pine Street this speakeasy bar is found in the back of Cocktails and Screams. A great place to go if you like the nightlife downtown The Craft is a witchy experience. Think candles, magic and tasty original cocktails.
3) Mathers Social Gathering: On Magnolia hidden away on the third floor is this classy cocktail speakeasy. Get dressed up. Go on the nights they have burlesque. They have food, cocktails, wine and unlike the other two speakeasies this place has lots of places to sit with your friends while drinking.
