The drones varied in size and configuration but posed no threat to residents or infrastructure, according to USAF officials. The Air Force emphasized its right to protect its bases in England. The sightings coincided with intensified drone exchanges between Russia and Ukraine, with dozens of drones downed on both sides. Putin recently threatened the UK and US after Ukraine used Western-made missiles against Russia, announcing mass production of hypersonic missiles.
