Another chapter in the recovery and repair of my DJI PHANTOM VISION2+ after falling out of the sky.
In a previous video I showed the agonizing recovery after my PV2+ wasn't able to return home and was lost in the woods.
The damage amounted to a few broken props and more importantly a damaged gimbal.
I disassembled the gimbal, removed the camera and control arm to try and figure out whether the internal components were serviceable or the entire unit needed to be replaced. If any of the electronics were damaged then it's out of my hands.
The only obvious damage I could see was a bent control arm and a severed ribbon that sends and receives commands to/from the camera.
After powering up the gimbal attempts to spin the control rod but because it isn't connected to the camera or lower gimbal it just continues to spin, or so goes my theory.
I am planning on replacing the ribbon to see if that will rectify the issue otherwise it's an expensive $650+ to replace the entire unit.
Questions/ comments are welcomed.
