The hottest hardcore rap group in Nigeria, Ruff, Rugged and Raw, made up of two brothers, “B-RITE” (Kingsley Ayovunaduo) and “HANGMAN” (David Ayovunaduo), has taken the radio and club scene in London by storm with the club banging single “WETIN DEY,” produced by Paul Play (C.E.O. PLAYGROUND ENTERTAINMENT). Radio stations and clubs in Nigeria are still going crazy for the song. The album “GOD IS WITH US” is the most anticipated rap album in 2005. The group was formed in 1990 and included a third member, “JAY GANGSTA,” who left in 2000. Ruff, Rugged, and Raw are widely known and respected for their “roughneck hardcore,” which is fast gaining popularity at the moment. True hip-hop heads and personalities like GRANDMASTER LEE (STAR FM) and JACOB AKINYEMI JOHNSON (RHYTHM) quickly recognized their skill and featured them in many radio shows and rap concerts though unsigned. They moved to the next level and featured on the TONY TETUILA hit song “OMODE META NSERE.” Their unique style caught Paul Play's attention during Tony Tequila’s album project. He featured them on his monster hit “YESOH” from his debut album. They went on to produce the hardcore rap song “KASALA GO BURST” which ruled the airwaves in 2000 and won the group their respect. Without an album released, they were contracted to perform at gigs in universities across the country. Paul Play could not convince the group to prune down on their hardcore style and embrace commercial rap until 2004, and they were signed to Playground Entertainment label. Since then they have done lots of collabos with Pauplay single FOREVER and with the MTV award-winning 2face Idibia, 9ice (Plantation Boyz), and many more. ..
