4K SESIMBRA | Summer In Portugal
Set on a curving turquoise bay just 40 km (25 mi) south of Lisbon... Sesimbra. Scenic views from the walls of Sesimbra Castle. Portuguese conquest of this region occurred in 1165, after a long reign of power by the Moors and a brief control by the Berbers. This medieval castle stood in a dominant position on a cliff over a cove. Sesimbra lies at the foothills of the Serra da Arrábida, a forested mountain range in the Setúbal District. A maze of steep alleys and narrow streets leads to the port and the beaches. Two mountain roads connect Sesimbra with the city of Setúbal, passing through some spectacular scenery. The other direction leads to the enchanted Cabo Espichel, a remote place with magnificent views. Click the links at the end of this video to see more of Cabo Espichel and Setúbal.
