Nakonde District has in last 24 hours recorded THREE new cholera cases.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 10.
Among the new cases is an 8 year old girl and 2 males of Ntindi Village.
Acting Health Minister DOUGLAS SYAKALIMA has disclosed that 3 out of the 10 patients are stable, while the remaining 7 continue to receive full medical treatment.
Speaking when he addressed the media in Nakonde, Mr. SYAKALIMA said among the measures put in place is the distribution of chlorine by the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit and placement of hand washing buckets in public places.
And Health Permanent Secretary for Technical Services KENNEDY LISHIMPI has commended health authorities in the district for their quick interventions.
