Principle

So the flavonoids posess keto and hydroxyl groups at different positions in their structures...

When we mix aluminum chloride with flavonoids,.... The aluminum chloride forms a complex with these keto and hydroxyl groups of the flavonoids


This complex has an absorption maxima at 415 nm.

So the absorbance reading is taken at this value and we compare it with the standard graph
