AMD just released their 24.9.1 driver, and with it came a lot of improvements to AFMF, now aptly named AFMF 2. Previously AFMF would stop generating frames during fast movement, but that has now changed. There are also a few quality and performance options to choose from when using AFMF 2.
In today's video we'll be testing AFMF 2 with the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB GPU.
AFMF 2 stands for AMD Fluid Motion Frames, and it's a driver-level frame generation technique. Unfortunately it's not perfect as it is not game aware, so it doesnt have access to motion vectors, meaning that some UI elements might become garbled.
Still, AFMF 2 is pretty good, and very useful in certain situations.
