Former Rivers State Governor Peter Odili has disclosed that God used the current governor of the State, Siminalayi Fubara, to prevent some persons from turning the state into their private property.

Dr Odili also disclosed that the battle Governor Fubara has gone through from the 25th of October 2023 was never about himself or his family but in the state's interest.

Speaking at a gathering he put together to appreciate Governor Fubara and his family, Peter Odili added that the battle is an existential fight for the soul of the state and to re-affirm that Rivers State can never be anybody’s private property.
