Short video of a 1983 Dennis RS133 fire engine with wheeled escape ladder. VRM: WCD 783.This was taken at 1442 hrs on Sunday 4th September 2022 on the B6168 New Front Street, Annfield Plain, County Durham, England, with the engine heading south east towards the centre of Annfield Plain.
This is a 1982 Dennis RS133 fire engine with a naturally aspirated Perkins 640 V8 (10.5 litre) diesel engine and an Alison MT643 automatic gear box. This was made for East Sussex Fire Brigade and attended the Brighton Hotel bombing of Margaret Thatcher. Its sister fire engine was involved in a fatal road traffic collision and scrapped. This Dennis is unique, being the last of its kind looking relatively modern from the front to the untrained eye, but whilst still having the old wheeled escape ladder at the rear. It is fully kitted out with all equipment including hoses, BA sets, rtc equipment, small gear and ladders etc.
It has reportedly achieved a speed of 77 mph, on a private road of course.
