Major themes of Oedipus rex
1. Fate vs. Free Will: Oedipus's attempts to evade a predicted fate eventually lead him to fulfill it, emphasizing the struggle between fate and human action.
2. Blindness and Sight: This portion examines the difference between perception and physiological sight. Tiresias, the blind prophet, is able to understand the truth, but Oedipus, the sightless, is unconscious of his own reality.
