With her fascinating history file, letters of correspondence during the 80's to previous owners and even from the family of the supplying dealer, we're delighted to offer this lovely Rover P4, 100 model. Originally registered on the 26th June 1961 in Pershore, Worcestershire and retaining its original 3 letter, 3 digit registration we understand that this Rover P4 was original registered to a Mr Partridge and remained in the family until the mid 1970's, changing hands a few further times before being bought by the gent whom we're helping to sell the car for.

A visual inspection of this 61 year old classic can't help but bring a smile to ones face. The mainstay for 'well to-do' middle-management this Rover P4 100 just oozes class and refinement but does so in such an understated way that you're never left feeling anything but joyous in its company. During the course of her years of motoring the history file confirms the car was repainted in the 1980's (for some reason to two-tone grey/blue) and then thankfully in the 90's back to her correct colour (as confirmed on her Heritage certificate) of Rush / Shadow Green. A tour of the P4 confirms the car remains in great overall condition, the paint has a super sheen, the chrome / brightwork is excellent in most areas but with our hyper-critical eye we'd say there's the odd blemish and being super 'picky' the rear-bumper blade / 'reverse' light plinth is a little tarnished........it's minute detail, which almost seems irrelevant given the car has had no remedial works for 30 years plus....it's just a real pleasure to see such a lovely example.
Opening the 'suicide' doors and you're met with a real 'wow' factor.....with the whole interior having been re-trimmed by a local trimmers in recent years, works including seat faces trimmed in soft 'nappa' leather, suede side panels / door pockets and luxurious deep-pile carpets to match. The interior offers real style and originality, wooden dash / door cappings, window trims, switch gear all ooze quality and originality in abundance ..... at the time of manufacture, in period road test it was noted by Bob Dearborn (Road & Track), "I honestly believe (barring the Rolls-Royce) that there is no finer car built in the world today." ..... move forward 60 years and the still offers that class!
Showing just under 7k miles, her history suggesting the actual mileage is circa 72k-75k miles, theres's a documented speedo change in 1988 at 66,015 miles and with the car having also been 'dormant' for a number of years (2003-2017) we're delighted to say this Rover P4 100 is a mechanical gem. The 2.6 litre six cylinder engine, offering 100bhp and near 100mph performance (not tested!), fires easily from cold and at tick-over it's easy to think that she isn't running at all. Out on the main roads, the car performs well: the gear box is super smooth, the brakes are good (given disc / drum brakes) and the suspension offers damped travel with an air of grace. Ahead of any sale the P4 will pass to our independent engineer for a 'health check' / pre-mot works, service and she'll be sold with a new 12 month MOT.
With her lovely history file, letters of correspondence between owners in the 1980, invoices for some £6k, MOT's from the early 80's to date (she was off the road 03-17), original owners manual, workshop manuals, a whole box of Rover P4 Guild magazines and small spares package this Rover P4 100 is now ready to find her new home, offering her new owner plenty of style, grace and smiles per mile.
