This BBC Videobook To British Garden Birds Laserdisc transfer was created from four different direct RF copies made using a Domesday Duplicator, decoded with ld-decode rev 7 and stacked using ld-stacker to give the best possible image quality. It was edited to join the two sides of the LD into one continuous movie. Then AI upscaled and enhanced to 1440x1080, cropped to remove part of the overscan and minimal digital noise reduction was applied.
The jerky or jumpy motion in several scenes seem to be how it unfortunately was on the LaserDisc, most likely due to the film transfer they did for the laserdisc pressing, and would require much more work to fix or reduce. This may not have been as noticeable on a CRT TV back then though. You can see they did not make much effort with it as it look like they did not even clean the film reel before doing the transfer as it is full of dust and scratches. Nevertheless, I think it's as good as it ever gonna look considering the media it came from.
For those who would prefer an untouched version that include the special ''Bird song only'' audio track, I uploaded the two sides of the LaserDisc as they were without any editing at the Internet Archive:

*Note that this is a different film than the BBC RSPB Video Guide to British Garden Birds (1989) despite the similar topic and also being narrated by Sir David Attenborough.
Special thanks to all the Internet Archive users who made their RF copies available!
