Every Winter Torbay, Devon is visited by numbers of Great Northern Divers (Common Loon). Some of them frequent Brixham Harbour & Marina, affording superb views of these usually distant birds.


On 2.1.20 I walked the Brixham Breakwater sea wall & managed to try & video a Great Northern Diver. Initially I came across 2 birds together but, as the morning drew on, 2 became 3, then 3 became 4! All first Winter birds: "scaly" back; paler looking appearing brownish in some light; dirty cheeks.


I only have quite an old bridge camera which I was using hand held, in the wind so, all things considered, I'm quite pleased with the results.
