Asian Agri is one of the leading private companies in Indonesia producing crude palm oil (CPO). Since 1987, Asian Agri has been a pioneer of the Indonesian government’s Trans-National Government Migration (PIR-Trans) program. Today, the company partners 29,000 smallholder families in Riau and Jambi, providing financial and resource assistance, trainings in agricultural know-how and best practices, as well as facilitate them to achieve sustainable certification. Collectively, these smallholders operate 60,000 Ha of palm oil plantation.
In this video, Berita Satu interviewed smallholders which partnered PT Inti Indosawit Subur (a member of the Asian Agri group of companies) to find out how this partnership has helped them become successful farmers and elevated their living standards through the years.
