I never imagined a trip would end like this for me, but sooner or later, something bad had to happen. After months of deliberating, I decided to spend my Labor Day trip back in Temagami. I choose a loop that I've never done, and was super excited to explore a brand new area. I have accessed at Matagamasi twice before, but both times I headed through the West branch towards Wolf Lake. The plan for this trip was to go up the East branch of Matagamasi and head into Karl Lake, Maskinonge, Donald and Kukagami. The route had so many options that I could switch to, depending on weather or just the way I was feeling that morning. I loved the flexibility. What I didn't love was what happened to the canoe while I was out on this adventure. Thankfully, I made it back safely, but it just goes to show you, that you always have to be mindful of Mother Nature and be prepared for anything. I hope you enjoy this 4 part solo canoe trip, and it helps you prepare for the unexpected when heading out on your next adventure!
