A mother and child were rescued Wednesday, after 228 hours buried under quake rubble in Hatay, Turkey according to local media reports.
Video footage shows one child and their mother, Ela, being carried away on stretchers by rescue teams. Local media reports said Ela's second child was also rescued. All three were taken to the nearest hospital for medical attention.
The combined death toll in Turkey and Syria has climbed over 41,000, and millions are in need over humanitarian aid, with many survivors having been left homeless in near-freezing winter temperatures. #earthquake #syria #turkey
