In this video we show off our genuine La Z Boy replacement Pawl and Pawl Rack Set parts which are manufactured by La Z Boy and imported to Australia by Sofa Rehab. We also sell this product internationally. This is a like-for-like replacement, metal and painted black. The sub-assembly comes fully assembled and ready to install. The pawl rack (the part with the metal teeth) has no moving parts so it just needs to be screwed into place.

The pawl rack attaches to the front rail of your La Z Boy recliner and the sub-assembly attaches to the adjacent base in a interlocking position with the pawl rack's metal teeth. These two parts together is how the ratchet system works in Lazy Boy recliner chairs. The hook on the sub-assembly part is where you attach the release bar internally. We suggest you take a photo before removing the old parts.

If your La Z Boy recliner chair's position keeps slipping, it might be due to a broken or worn our Pawl Rack or sub-assembly. We recommend replacing both parts at the same time to ensure no slipping after repairs.
