TIG welding or Tungsten Inert Gas welding is a type of welding procedure where the heat required to create weld is generated by non-consumable tungsten electrode. In this process, the shielding gas is stored in a separate gas cylinder. The shielding gas is provided to protect the metal from reacting with the oxygen in the atmosphere when it is heated to very high temperatures.
