A rare snowstorm hit the Willamette Valley in March and I made my way trackside to catch some action. Unfortunately, snow in this part of the country jams everything up and people freak out, so the Coast Starlights are instantly canceled.
First thing up, track machinery moving north past Marion to make way for the Salem switcher's return. Next the Salem switcher running fast around the curve at the north end of Marion siding with units 1230 and 1445. UP 5211, 8426, and 6014 lead a 43 car MRVPD not long after. In Turner a long repositioning baretable makes it's way north with units 4895, 7607, 8557, and 7385.
