Chattanooga firefighters joined several other crews from our region in Sevier County Thursday as a wildfire around Hatcher Mountain-Indigo Lane continues to burn.
The Chattanooga Fire Department sent out a Tweet Thursday morning that CFD crews are on the ground in Sevier County working in a steep mountain subdivision.
Other crews in Sevier County include Bradley County, McMinn County, Athens, Englewood, Dunlap and some surrounding districts.
Mandatory evacuations are in place for many parts of Sevier County as the wildfire is fueled by wind gusts of up to 90 miles per hour.
Wednesday night Hatcher Mountain-Indigo Lane wildfire was reported to have grown to at least 1,000 acres in size with at least 35 structures were impacted from the wildfire, according to WATE.
