The Mythic Dawn cult are the first enemy encountered in Oblivion & cut a deadly visage with their distinct, blood red robes. A reference explained later in Skyrim & with Skyrim Anniversary edition just releasing with Mythic Dawn quests, what better time than to explore a few dark facts about the cult?

which undoubtedly became an integral part of the players starter outfit.

Later during the dagon Shrine quest , the hero is able to be inducted into the Cult on the proviso that they spill the blood of a poor Argonian with a sacrificial blade.

What was not explained during that time, however is that the blood of sacrifices also boasted a sinister & more direct application for the cult.

During a tour of the Mythic Dawn Museum, Silus Vesuius will stop at the display case with the robes in them and will passionately explain their purpose and creation:

"Those robes were worn during the M ythic Dawn's secret meetings, where they plotted to bring the Daedra Mehrunes Dagon into Tamriel. Each bolt of yarn used to make the robe was colored with a dye made from sacrificial blood."
