Medellin has a modern gondola system called Metrocable that is part of the cities Metro system. The Metrocables are designed to accesses some of the comnas (barrios) on the steep valley walls of the city. At this point there are 3 lines with 2 more on the way. Here is a speed up ride of portions of Line K which goes from Acevedo station at the bottom of the valley (at just below 5,000 feet) to Santo Domingo, passing Biblioteca Espana. Santo Domingo connects to Line L which continues up to Parque Arvi at over 10,700 feet high in the Andes above Medellin. The Metrocable ride to Parque Arvi is 4.1 miles (6.6 km) long and takes 24 minutes. Riding the Metrocable is one of the best FREE things to do in Medellin.
